Deadline reminders for the UStVA and ZM

Before each deadline for the VAT advance return (UStVA) and the EC Sales List (ZM), Norman sends you an email.

When the emails come

• A week before the deadline, at 10:00.
• On the due date, at 10:00, only if the return is still open.

The UStVA is due on the 10th after the period, the ZM on the 25th. If that day falls on a weekend or a public holiday, the next working day counts. If you file the UStVA monthly, a reminder comes every month. If you file quarterly, it comes in January, April, July and October.

What is in them

• Your VAT payable or VAT refund, calculated from your bookings in Norman, with output VAT and input VAT.
• What Norman checked: whether every booking has a category, whether every expense has a receipt, and whether your bank connection is up to date. Each open item takes you straight there.
• A button to the return, so you can review and send it.

The ZM reminder shows the total of your sales to business customers in other EU countries.

Who gets them

Every company that is VAT-registered in Norman and files the UStVA monthly or quarterly gets the UStVA reminder. The ZM reminder comes for every quarter with sales to business customers in other EU countries.

No reminder comes if you already filed the return through Norman or marked it as submitted. If Tax autopilot files your UStVA, it sends you its own emails.

If your tax advisor files

If your tax advisor files the return, open Taxes and choose Mark as submitted in the menu of the card. Then no reminder comes on the due date.

Turn reminders off and on

Open the tax settings and clear Send report deadline reminders. Or click Stop deadline reminders at the bottom of a reminder.

The setting applies to the whole company. If you select it again, the reminders start again from the next deadline.

Dauerfristverlängerung

Norman does not store a permanent deadline extension (Dauerfristverlängerung) yet. If you have one, your UStVA is due one month later than the reminder says.
