Order management from quote to payment

Everything from quote to payment: the quote, the accepted order, the invoice, the delivery note, a cancellation or credit note when needed and finally the payment reminder. In Norman each of these documents starts from the one before.

Open an issued invoice or an accepted quote and choose “Create delivery note”. Norman copies the client, items and quantities, leaves out the prices and assigns the next delivery note number. You can also create a delivery note from scratch.

No. The delivery note shows what was delivered, without prices. You still need an invoice to bill the order.

It is not required by law. In Norman the accepted quote records what was agreed and becomes the invoice in one click. Norman has no separate order confirmation document.

Click “Convert to invoice” on the quote. Norman creates a draft invoice with every line item for you to check and issue. The quote stays and moves to “Invoiced”.

A cancellation invoice reverses an invoice in full. A credit note changes only part of it, for example a quantity or an amount. You create both straight from the issued invoice. They name the original invoice and get the next invoice number.

Under German VAT law a “Gutschrift” is an invoice your client issues to you (§ 14(2) UStG). When you correct your own invoice, the document is a “Rechnungskorrektur” or “Stornorechnung”. Norman uses these terms in German.

No. Once issued, the invoice is protected against changes, as the GoBD require. You fix a mistake with a cancellation invoice or a credit note. Until you issue it, the invoice stays a draft you can edit freely.

Turn on reminders in the invoice editor. From one day after the due date, Norman emails your client a payment reminder with the invoice PDF. You can schedule more reminders by days or on a set date. A dunning notice goes out with one click on “Overdue”.

In sequence and per year: RE for invoices, AN for quotes, LS for delivery notes, for example RE-2026-0001. Cancellation invoices and credit notes share the invoice sequence.
