Complete your company details
Which company details you need, where to enter them, and when missing information blocks your next step.
Updated
Company details identify the entity whose books and returns you are preparing. A company name alone is not enough for an E-Bilanz transmission.
Where to start
- Open Accounting → Setup and choose Company details.
- Check the legal name, legal form, registered address and tax information against the company's documents.
- Use the edit/open action to enter the corporate tax registration record, including company information, people and financial information. Complete shareholders, nominal share amounts and share capital where requested.
- Check the fiscal-year dates when you open migration or annual close. Use the company's actual period, including a short first year where applicable.
- Save the information and return to the accounting workspace.
For an existing company, completing this record for accounting is not an instruction to submit a new tax registration. Saving data, generating a preview and transmitting a registration are separate actions.
When do the details become necessary?
Before importing existing books: confirm the correct company and fiscal period. You can analyse source files before every filing detail is complete. An SKR suggestion still needs your review.
For a newly formed company: the formation opening workflow uses the corporate tax registration data to build opening entries. Missing formation or capital information can therefore block this starting point.
Before E-Bilanz: company master data, shareholders and capital information are needed for the reporting payload. If the preview points to the corporate tax registration record, complete that record, not just the name on the account profile.
Before tax returns or payroll: complete the fields requested by that particular report, including the correct tax number and relevant representative or salary information. A completed accounting setup does not mean that every tax form is complete.
If a field is missing
Read the exact validation message, correct the named section and generate a fresh preview. Do not invent a tax number, date or shareholder amount just to pass validation.
Next: choose your SKR, or migrate existing books.
