About the role
You build the systems that read financial documents, keep the books, and file with the German tax authorities.
What you'll do
- Design and build Django services for bookkeeping, transaction categorization and tax filing
- Own integrations with banks, ELSTER, and e-invoicing formats such as XRechnung and ZUGFeRD
- Build data pipelines that turn documents and bank feeds into correct, auditable bookkeeping records
- Own correctness: reconciliation, idempotency, audit trails and GoBD-compliant archiving
- Apply AI and LLM components where they earn their place, and contain them where they do not
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of backend experience, deep in Python and Django
- Fluent with the Django ORM and relational data modeling in systems where correctness matters more than throughput
- Comfortable with third-party APIs that are poorly documented and occasionally hostile
- Fluent English
Nice to have
- Fintech, accounting or tax as a domain
- Document parsing or LLM pipelines
- German regulatory context: GoBD, UStVA, EÜR, ELSTER
