Why we made it?

Why we made it?

Why we made it?

The world of finance is uniquely hostile to entrepreneurs. Banks, fintechs, tax advisors charge high fees, constantly demand your time, and expect you to roll up your sleeves to do their work.

Norman is putting an end to this. We transform finance from a barrier into a catalyst for growth. Norman looks for ways to save you money, not ways to extract more from you.

We are entrepreneurs with diverse backgrounds but a shared pain. We are solving these problems for ourselves and fellow entrepreneurs.

Norman is an accounting & tax autopilot. While some visionaries are building self-driving cars and AI doctors, we are arming every entrepreneur with an AI CFO. The world should get an AI accountant before AI doctors and drivers 😀

Why do it in Europe?

Certain regions globally have financial services available at a lower cost. In certain locations, most financial processes are already highly digitized and partially automated.

Europe is none of them.

Europe combines the highest price of services with the lowest level of digitization (not talking about automation). The average self-employed in Germany has to give up more than their net monthly income to afford a year of tax advisor services.

No more.

Entrepreneur: “Why didn’t you tell me I could save here? I missed a 4.000 € subsidy.”
Tax advisor: “You never asked about that.”
Entrepreneur: “But how would I know to ask about that in the first place?”

No more.

“Accounting and taxes are hard. Thousands of rules are constantly updating. A machine can’t deal with that only educated experts can.” This bullshit keeps perpetuating.

No more.

Only machines can remember thousands to millions of rules. This is beyond human capacity. Do all 100.000 tax advisors in Germany start their days reading the latest changes in the tax code and court precedents? We don’t think so. Machines can do it 24/7/365 and wouldn’t even yawn.

You don’t need a tax advisor in a suite coming to an office to categorize “WeWork Berlin” as “Rent” or charge you 150 € for answering the question - “How to deduct my home office as a business expense?”

It’s time to put finance on autopilot. Norman already got to work, and it won’t check out at 5 pm.

Sincerely (and slightly frustrated),

The Norman Team
